About Me
My name is Elise Gregg and I am a fourth-year university student at Florida International University. I am finishing my undergraduate studies in journalism and criminal justice and have started my master's program in criminal justice. I am the editor-in-chief of FIU's student newspaper, PantherNOW. I have worked for student media for two years, starting as a staff writer and moving up through the news team. My work has covered a variety of topics, focusing mostly on university administration, student government and FIU courts and crime.

After graduation, my goal is to write as a court and crime reporter, with stories that focus on breaking down cases so that readers can understand what's going on in a case and its possible impact. I'm also interested in writing about larger issues within the criminal justice system. I'm open to writing for practically any publication anywhere, so long as it's crime I'm writing about.

Outside of PantherNOW, I have also written for the South Florida Media Network as a general assignment writer, as well as interning with the Miami Herald during summer 2022. During my time at the Herald I worked on the Breaking and Real Time News team and had the opportunity to cover crime, South Florida issues (such as a breakdown of highway construction projects) and a Surfside memorial event.

I also earned a technical certification in Television Production at William T. McFatter Technical High School and have experience with Adobe products such as Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro as well as other data visualization tools.
